![]() It’s mostly open source and developed in Finland, more for the tech oriented(still a lot of bugs) but a great community helping to define Sailfish. ![]() Smartphone - I’ve now moved from a dumbphone to a Jolla Phone running Sailfish.Maybe use a blog instead? Try alternative communities? Facebook - Replaced by Ditching Facebook. Here’s what I’m currently using in terms of functional products. I’ll post up links each week on a new service or product that I’ve swapped across. If you’re not too technical and want to get up and running with owncloud, checkout Bitnami’s owncloud stack, with a one-click installer, though I’d try avoid those hosting platforms and go for something based in Europe. I leveraging a tool called saltstack to share reusable configurations, so you can easily run a server then clone a lot of what I’m doing to circumvent surveillance.Ī lot of my tech involves using owncloud, it has a lot of addons and features that I’ve grown to rely on over the years. Other sites have done something similar(links at the bottom), but I’m hoping to write or add in comprehensive tutorials explaining how to set these things up in an understandable way. I’m going to put up a running list of technologies I’ve used/still use and how I’ve moved across from services that were out of my control onto ones that I can manage and run myself. These technologies are all just choices you’ve made. Most of how the NSA collects data on you(via prism anyway) is through Google, Yahoo, Gmail, Facebook and Microsoft. ![]() There’s one critical flaw to the NSA’s methods. If you want more details The Guardian has a great explanation as to what Snowden’s files mean here. Whether you’re being “social”, reading email, playing video games or even when you’re writing a book on the NSA. The bidders solution need to replace EBS volume with S3 for user data (probably, owncloud/data folder).Governments are collecting data on you, that’s a fairly accepted fact at this stage. But with when S3 is not PRIMARY storage, OC still uses EC2 EBS volumes for local storage, and it keeps a local copy of S3. It's this bitnami image: OC configured to use S3 as EXTERNAL storage. Please check how OC enterprise edition is doing this.Ģ-The current setup is not a production system. ![]() Please make sure it is a clean solution, and not a temporary workaround. We need this to avoid standard replies and prove that you have worked with OC before. Our bid is about 1 instance configuration, and doesn't include any data migration.ĬLARIFICATIONS BASED ON DISCUSSIONS WITH BIDDERS:ġ-In order to select a bidder, we need bidders to briefly describe how they are planning to do it? e.g. With your support, no user data will be stored on local disk.Ī similar project was delivered 1 year ago: īut, the other project had 2 extra requirements (merging 2 OC instances into 1, and porting data). ![]() This is not good, because owncloud maintains local copies in local disk. Our current owncloud instance is using Bitnami Distribution on AWS, and it connects to S3 as external storage. 1-We need you to configure ownCloud (the Bitnami distribution on AWS) to use S3 as PRIMARY storage source for all user files and app data.Ģ-The ownCloud installations will be Bitnami Distribution hosted on EC2 instance.ģ-You shall provide the files that have been edited as well as steps involved to do so.Ĥ (Optional) If you can create a shell script to do this automatically, that's a bonus. ![]()
